Ah, this is some of the best rain we have gotten all season.
This is a good sign for peaches, I say.
I just realized how long it's been since I made a not-friends-only post. It's gotten to a point of "not wanting to show weakness", I supose, when I won't even leave a post about a headache public. Well, that and I checked LJ enough at work to leave a nice little digital papertrail right back here, so any work related posts are locked on principle.
This weekend was most lovely- Jim and I wandered about Nob Hill Saturday morning and had a great breakfast at the Chocolate Cafe & Bakery. Instead of chocolate, I had a carne and avocado omelette. It was superb. Then we saw "Chronicles of Riddick". Hmm, a step above gratouitously badass because of the epic feel it had as well. I enjoyed it. Though, I got rather sick of him dramatically ripping off his goggles.
I watched Kill Bill again, and saw Old School (I was sad that James Carville's appearence was so short!!!). Went to the OMG $.99 buffet extravaganza at Evergreen - half hour wait for all you can eat for less than a dollar SUSHI? So worth it! Besides, Jim and I strolled over to a Game Stop in the meantime. He got me another copy of "Castlevania : Lament of Innocence" (one of the games I lost when he got robbed). WOoot!
Other than that, I got a ton of exercise this weekend. Yep.
I mean, I played a bunch of DDR this weekend.
Yep. That's exactly what I meant.
I'm a terrible liar ^____^
So I have gotten some interesting/cool CD's lately so I thought I'd blab about them a bit.
Firstly, Jim bought me a new copy of "Nightfall in Middle Earth" by Blind Guardian . It has what I consider to be my favorite song on it- "Thorn". The CD had been stolen from me last New Years and I missed it greatly. Thanks~!
Next, I finally got my paws on "Fortress in Flames" by The Crüxshadows. I heared them in Hot Topic once and was intrigued. Then I heared "Dragonfly" at the Pulse and knew I had to have it. I'm currently addicted to that song. For anyone who hasn't heared them, they are sortagothytechoy music with some celtic-y influences. The lyrics are great- remind me a little of Blind Guardian. Only more, you know, goth.
I demand more music by them!!!
Lastly, I picked up an odd CD when I was at Natural Sound with Jim. It was $2.95 and looked interesting so why not. Ordo Equitum Solis is the group- this is thier first CD, "Solstitii Temporis Sensus". Hmm...
I really love some of the songs on it, but some are just sung horribly off key.
They make me think of a mix between what I have heared by Equimanthorn and Dead Can Dance ...
I'm curious if they got better with any of thier later albums. Hmm!
