I just made Jim cinnamon pie and cinnamon tea! This makes me very squishyhappy.
Also, they were both delicious. The pie divided itself into layers while cooking. A dark sugary layer at the bottom, then a custard-like layer, then a crunchy top almost like Crem Brulee. If you want to try it, the recipe is the first thing that comes up if you search for "cinnamon pie" on www.allrecipes.com. I highly recommend it!!

Feeling better
Feb. 21st, 2008 06:00 pmI'm feeling much better today.
For some reason, I had a few of my old favorite games pop into my head at work. Namely Drakkhen, Shadowgate, and Deadly Towers. Admittedly, none of these were GREAT games, but I have fond memories of the music and the games. Deadly Towers has got to be one of the most sadistic games ever made. I remember beating it once, using my Game Genie. Even then, it was just terribly redundant. Yet, awesome in it's own way. My dad and I once tried to map out all the secret dungeon areas in it, using graph paper. We got part way through one, after taping about 10 sheets of graph paper together!! Crazy!
Hmm... I'm going to switch to my laptop because it has the SNES emulator installed. I'll either play more Demon's Crest or download Drakkhen. I should also probably find a PUG for some random instance in WoW so I can get back in the raiding groove before tomorrow night.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the date that I become nothing but the back of a head with a halo of monitor glow. Well, assuming "Spore" is as good as I hope it is!!
It's my monday- Shocking!
Feb. 12th, 2008 10:01 amThis morning has been a comedy of errors.
I couldn't find my hoodie, my copy of The Amber Spyglass, or my back pillow for work. Sweet! This is what I get for 2:30am gaming sessions.
Then I lost something at work. It was in my BPAL box, but when I tried to put on some smellygoods someone turned the corner and startled me, causing the Rather Special Rock I had in there to tumble onto the carpet. This carpet might as well be Pebble Camo because that thing is GONE.
Stupid! I don't even feel that tired today. I've been highly productive.
Also, I E-Bayed one of these Gorgeous Things. *drool* Did I mention I have a crush on Illidan Stormrage? Is that wrong? No. No it's not.

The joys of cable theft. Or not.
Feb. 1st, 2008 09:51 pmDear Albuquerquians: (X Posted to the Albuquerque community)
Has anyone:
a) Had issues with neighbors stealing your cable.
b) Been able to actually get them nailed for it somehow?
Our neighbors (and we've seen them do this) cut the lock on the cable amp in our yard, and split the signal. This happens.. oh... anywhere from once a month to twice a week. Causes our nice internet connection to drop out about every 10 minutes. Real fun when you are raiding in certain MMOs. Or browsing. Or checking my bank statements. Or posting things like this. Screws up the TV signal two, causing freezing/pixelating on TiVo'd shows.
Yes. Adults are stealing cable from college students. Pitiful? Ironic?
This has been going on for a year and a half.
Suggestions? Comcast has been useless so far. Though, they do have a supervisor coming to our house this Sunday... should be amusing.

I can quit any time...
Jan. 28th, 2008 08:27 pmI planned to spend most of the weekend playing WoW, and that's just what I did. Augh, I'm so close to 70- just need 74.5% more of my level...!
Also, one of my roommates and I removed everything from the pantry (that was one huge heap-o-food) and put it all back in an organized manner. We labeled the shelves even! When trying to figure out what to name the shelf with the canned fruit and veggies, we ended up naming it "Canned Plants". I'm not sure why this is so amusing to me. Next weekend, the kitchen!

WoW is busy updating, so I'm gonna go be a werewolf!
In nerdy WoW news, I'm level66 67!! As soon as I hit that level, my guild decided to take me through Durnhold to rescue Thrall. That. Was. Sweet!

Another new band for me
Jan. 20th, 2008 08:46 amAbney Park - Steampunk + Music = Love! There are a few free downloads on their site in "the vault" - Very pretty stuff- Lots of Middle Eastern influences, rather goth-y, I love it.
Adventures in drinking - The Beast
Dec. 13th, 2007 06:19 pmWhat the unholy... I'm still working my way slowly through a bottle of this evil brew . We've deemed it BORT. Beer + Port = ouch. From the description: "...brewing sugars (raisins, dates, blackstrap molasses, alfalfa honey, turbinado, and dark Belgian candy sugar)..."
Currently I'm drinking the last portion of my glass "watered down" with rum.
Also, the camera effects in "The Bourne Ultimatum" are not helping. If you have seen this movie, you probably know what I mean when I shout "Extreme Faxing!". I don't approve.

POST RAMPAGE
Oct. 19th, 2007 07:23 pmI also should note, things I am currently addicted to:
- Metalocalypse. I just got the DETHALBUM in the mail today, and the first season DVDs a few days ago. METAL. EDIT: apparently, somehow, and I'm not sure how this works... Dethklok will be playing at the UNM SUB on 10/29/07?? O_o http://www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2007/10/18/adult_swim_presents_trail_of_dead_and_de I am so there.
- First on the list of bands I should have been listening to for years but just found out recently are awesome: Dimmu Borgir. There are some days where I listen to nothing but "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse" all day. Second on the list: Wintersun. "Death and the Healing" is amazing, if you ignore the bad English. Both songs can be found with videos on YouTube, much to my surprise.
- LOCO ROCO COCORACCHIO and all things Loco Roco. I have yet to play the actual PSP game, lacking a PSP, but the PS3 minigame is fun. Check out the website if you aren't familiar and like cute squishy things like slimes, Puyo Puyos etc: http://www.us.playstation.com/LocoRoco/. I <3 the theme song so much!
Okay. That's it. Yay for being a Gemini.
